The Big Squeeze

You might not

know it, but water is as much a part of making the jeans you wear as the actual denim. Most pairs are fairly awash in the stuff during the finishing process.

In 2011, Levi’s launched a new collection with the intent of using LESS water. Called Water<Less, these jeans don’t use a little less water, they use A LOT LESS water—96 percent less. Since their introduction, they’ve saved more than 200 million gallons of water.

So we’ve done our part, and with Earth Day coming, it’s time for you to do yours. From research, we know that how you care for your clothes has a big impact on the planet. Washing your jeans once every other week, rather than once a week, can make a big difference. Give it a try.
