Justin Bieber has landed in India. The boy-man was spotted leaving the airport in a vehicle usually reserved for Russian gangsters, neo-Nazis, oil barons and crazy rock stars – the Bieb doing his best to graduate to the latter. He was spotted entering a white Mercedes-Benz G-Class also known as the G-Wagen, followed closely by an entourage of dudes, presumably including his tour manager, bodyguard and few others.
Contrasting heavily against his pink hoodie, the G-Class is one of the most hardcore 4×4 SUVs produced by Mercedes-Benz – it’s basic design having stayed the same for decades. The vehicle comes with not one but three lockable differentials which make it unstoppable on off-road. In standard, non-AMG form, the G-Wagen comes with a 4.0-litre V8 engine which produces 415 bhp of power. It’s like a Range Rover for grizzly, tattooed and possibly armed gentry, if its depiction in the movies is to be believed.
It also works as a perfect prop to enhance one’s masculinity – especially when they choose to turn up in a pink hoodie. The G-Wagen is to Bieber what a beard is to most. Except that it costs Rs 2.08 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Now that Bieber’s been in it, should the cost appreciate or depreciate?
